On Saturday, March 13, our Front Range Bantam Rec squad faced a hard-hitting Foothills Flyers squad in the first round of the C-470 League Playoffs.  The Flyers were the league leaders in penalty minutes this year, and the clubs’ two regular season meetings were highly physical, highly emotional affairs.  Both teams came ready to play and the game lived up to playoff expectations.  Our Panthers out shot the Flyers in the first stanza, but couldn’t solve the Foothills keeper.  At the end of the first, the score stood at 0 – 0.    At the end of two periods the score was knotted at 1 apiece.  The Flyers scored with ten minutes to play in the third to make it 2-1.  Despite controlling the play for the rest of the game and a madcap, empty-net flurry in the last sixty seconds, our Panthers came up short. Congratulations to the Bantams on a great showing and great improvement this year.

The FRAHA Squirt A's advance to the second round of the CCYHL playoffs after a 5-2 win over Northern Colorado on Friday evening. Heading into the third period tied at two the Panthers decided they had seen enough. Three Panther goals in the third put the game out of reach for NoCo. The Panthers take on Colorado Springs at 1:00 PM on Sunday. Good luck boys!

We are offering stick and puck sessions on Saturday the 13th. Sessions will run from 1:15 to 2:15, 2:30 - 3:30 and 5:00 - 6:00 PM. All skill levels are welcome. Helmets and gloves are required at a minimum. Cost is $10.00 per session. $15.00 for two people if you bring a friend. Check in inside the North (Red) rink with a FRAHA representative. We will be able to accept cash only. Please bring exact change.
